Our Dental Services

What Makes Teeth Cleanings Different from Regular Cleanings

At Cherry Chase Dental, we focus on thorough cleanings that remove buildup your toothbrush simply can’t reach. Plaque and tartar accumulate below the gum line over time, creating pockets where bacteria thrive. When left untreated, this leads to inflammation, bleeding gums, and eventual bone loss.

Our team uses specialized tools to clean deep beneath your gums, removing harmful deposits that threaten your oral health. These appointments give us the chance to catch problems early, before they become painful or expensive to treat. We believe prevention saves you time, money, and discomfort down the road.

What Happens During Your Periodontal Cleaning

Your cleaning appointment at Cherry Chase Dental involves more than a quick polish. We carefully examine your gums, measure pocket depths, and remove calculus that has hardened onto tooth surfaces. Our hygienists work gently but thoroughly so every area receives proper attention.

  • We check for signs of gum recession or inflammation throughout your mouth
  • Our team removes stubborn tartar deposits using ultrasonic scalers and hand instruments
  • We smooth root surfaces to discourage future bacterial attachment
  • Your gums receive a thorough evaluation to track any changes over time
  • We provide personalized guidance on improving your home care routine

How Regular Cleanings Protect Your Overall Health

Research shows strong connections between gum health and your body’s general wellness. Bacteria from infected gums can enter your bloodstream, potentially affecting your heart, lungs, and blood sugar levels.

  • Healthy gums reduce your risk of heart disease and stroke
  • Proper periodontal care helps manage diabetes more effectively
  • Clean gums decrease respiratory infection risks
  • Regular cleanings lower inflammation markers throughout your body
  • Prevention through dental visits at Cherry Chase Dental supports your immune system function

By maintaining healthy gums through consistent periodontal care, you reduce these risks significantly. We at Cherry Chase Dental see these cleanings as investments in your long-term health, not just your smile.

Invisalign Offers Adults a Discreet Way to Fix Crooked Teeth

Traditional braces meant years of avoiding popcorn, apples, and sticky foods. Invisalign changed that completely. These clear aligners snap onto your teeth and apply targeted pressure to move them gradually into place. You pop them out when you eat, then brush your teeth and put them back in. No one at the coffee shop or your next presentation will spot them unless they’re standing inches from your face.

Each aligner in your series moves specific teeth by fractions of a millimeter. At Cherry Chase Dental, we map out your entire treatment digitally before you even start, so you’ll see exactly where your teeth will end up. Your teeth respond to this constant, gentle pressure by shifting into their new positions. The best part? You’re not stuck with a mouth full of metal that makes you avoid cameras for two years.

What to Expect During Your Invisalign Treatment

Your treatment at Cherry Chase Dental starts with a detailed scan of your teeth. We create a custom plan showing how your teeth will move from start to finish. You’ll wear each set of aligners for about two weeks before switching to the next set in the series.

  • We take digital impressions without messy molds or uncomfortable trays
  • You’ll receive multiple aligner sets at once to reduce office visits
  • Most patients wear their aligners 20 to 22 hours each day
  • Check-in appointments happen every six to eight weeks to track progress
  • Treatment length varies but many cases finish within 12 to 18 months

Why Straight Teeth Improve Your Overall Health

Straighter teeth aren’t just about appearances. When your teeth align properly, you can clean them more thoroughly. Food particles and plaque hide in crooked, overlapping areas that your toothbrush struggles to reach. Properly aligned teeth reduce your risk of cavities and gum disease down the road.

  • Straight teeth are easier to floss between each night
  • Proper alignment reduces uneven wear on your tooth surfaces
  • Correct bite positioning decreases jaw pain and headaches
  • Well-aligned teeth lower your chances of chipping or cracking
  • Better spacing means healthier gums with less inflammation

Your investment in Invisalign pays off for years to come. Our team at Cherry Chase Dental is here to guide you through every step of creating the smile you’ve always wanted.

Veneers Can Transform Stained or Chipped Teeth in Just Two Visits

Years of coffee, wine, or smoking can leave stubborn stains that whitening treatments just can’t touch. Chips from accidents or worn enamel from grinding make you hesitate before smiling in photos. Veneers offer a solution that addresses multiple cosmetic concerns at once. These thin porcelain shells bond to the front of your teeth, creating a fresh, natural-looking surface that resists staining far better than your original enamel.

Most patients finish their veneer treatment in just two appointments at Cherry Chase Dental. We prepare your teeth during the first visit and take detailed impressions. A lab crafts your custom veneers while you wear temporary ones. When you return, we bond the permanent veneers to your teeth. The transformation happens fast, but the results last for years when you take care of them properly.

Common Issues Veneers Fix for Our Patients

Veneers work for more than just discoloration. Many people come to us at Cherry Chase Dental frustrated with gaps they’ve had since childhood or teeth that look too short or uneven. Others have minor chips or cracks that make them self-conscious. Porcelain veneers can address all these concerns in one treatment plan.

  • Permanent stains that whitening can’t remove finally disappear
  • Small gaps between front teeth close without needing braces
  • Worn or ground-down teeth regain their original length
  • Minor chips or cracks get covered with durable porcelain
  • Slightly crooked teeth appear straight without orthodontic work

How Long Veneers Last with Proper Care

Quality veneers typically last 10 to 15 years before needing replacement. The porcelain material resists stains from food and drinks that would normally darken natural teeth. You’ll need to avoid biting hard objects like ice or pen caps, which can crack the porcelain just like they’d damage your real teeth.

  • Brush and floss normally to keep the edges healthy
  • Skip using your front teeth as tools to open packages
  • Wear a night guard if you grind your teeth while sleeping
  • Visit Cherry Chase Dental twice yearly so we can check the bond integrity
  • Porcelain maintains its color permanently without yellowing over time

The difference between hiding your smile and showing it off comes down to how you feel about your teeth. Once your veneers are in place, you’ll notice yourself laughing more freely and posing differently in pictures.

Crowns Protect Cracked Teeth Before They Break Completely

Some damage goes too deep for a simple filling. When decay spreads through a large portion of your tooth or a crack threatens the entire structure, a crown becomes necessary. Think of it as a protective cap that covers the entire visible part of your tooth above the gum line. We shape what’s left of your natural tooth, then cement a custom-made crown over it to restore function and appearance.

Modern crowns look nothing like the obvious metal caps from decades past. Porcelain and ceramic materials match your natural tooth color so well that even you’ll forget which tooth has the crown. The restoration protects weakened teeth from breaking apart when you chew, and it can last 15 years or longer with routine care. At Cherry Chase Dental, we see crowns as the difference between keeping your natural tooth and losing it entirely.

Problems Crowns Solve Beyond Basic Cavities

Large fillings eventually weaken a tooth to the point where more structure is filling than actual tooth. Crowns also protect teeth after root canal treatment, since removing the nerve makes the tooth brittle over time. Severe grinding can wear teeth down to stubs that need rebuilding.

  • Teeth with large old fillings get reinforced before they crack
  • Root canal treated teeth stay protected from fracturing under pressure
  • Badly worn teeth regain their proper height and chewing surface
  • Cracked teeth get held together before the crack spreads deeper
  • Misshapen or severely discolored teeth get a complete cosmetic makeover

What Makes Modern Crowns Last Decades

The materials we use at Cherry Chase Dental today far surpass what was available even ten years ago. Zirconia and layered porcelain create crowns strong enough to handle back teeth while looking natural on front teeth. Your crown gets designed from digital impressions and milled with computer precision for a perfect fit.

  • Same-day crowns let you skip the temporary crown and second appointment
  • Porcelain fused to metal offers maximum strength for heavy chewing forces
  • All-ceramic crowns provide the most lifelike appearance for visible teeth
  • Proper oral hygiene keeps the margin where crown meets tooth healthy
  • Regular checkups catch problems early before they compromise the crown

A crown doesn’t just patch up damage. It gives your tooth a second chance to function normally for many years. We at Cherry Chase Dental take the time to match the color and shape so perfectly that you’ll forget it’s even there.

When Extractions Become the Best Option for Your Oral Health

Nobody wants to lose a tooth, but sometimes removal is the smartest choice. Severe decay, advanced gum disease, or overcrowding can make keeping a tooth more harmful than extracting it. Infection that spreads to the bone puts your overall health at risk. Wisdom teeth that grow sideways push against other teeth and cause pain. We only recommend extractions when preserving the tooth would lead to bigger problems down the road.

The procedure itself is faster and more comfortable than most people expect. We numb the area completely before starting, so you feel pressure but no pain during the removal. Simple extractions take just minutes, while surgical cases for impacted teeth require a bit more time. At Cherry Chase Dental, we walk you through every step and discuss replacement options like implants or bridges before you leave.

Signs That Point Toward Needing an Extraction

Pain isn’t always the deciding factor. Some teeth cause problems without hurting at all. X-rays at Cherry Chase Dental reveal infections brewing beneath the surface or damage hidden below the gum line. Teeth loosened by bone loss from gum disease can’t be saved no matter how much you want to keep them.

  • Abscesses that keep coming back despite multiple rounds of antibiotics
  • Fractures that extend below the gum line into the root
  • Baby teeth that refuse to fall out and block permanent teeth from erupting
  • Overcrowding that prevents orthodontic treatment from working properly
  • Wisdom teeth trapped sideways in the jaw with no room to emerge

How Proper Healing Prevents Complications After Removal

The first 24 hours after your extraction matter most. A blood clot needs to form in the empty socket to protect the bone underneath. Disturbing this clot leads to dry socket, a painful condition that delays healing. Following our aftercare instructions at Cherry Chase Dental closely helps you avoid this problem.

  • Bite down on gauze for 30 minutes right after the procedure to stop bleeding
  • Skip straws, smoking, and spitting forcefully for at least three days
  • Stick to soft foods and chew on the opposite side of your mouth
  • Rinse gently with warm salt water starting the day after extraction
  • Take prescribed pain medication before the numbing wears off completely

Your mouth heals remarkably fast when given the right conditions. Most extraction sites close up within a week or two, though complete bone healing takes a few months. We’ll check your progress at follow-up appointments at Cherry Chase Dental and discuss the best timing for any replacement teeth you might need.

Composite Fillings Match Your Natural Teeth Better Than Metal

Cavities happen, but the silver fillings from years past don’t have to be your only option anymore. Composite fillings use tooth-colored resin that blends seamlessly with your natural enamel. Nobody notices them when you laugh or talk. The material bonds directly to your tooth structure, which means we remove less healthy tooth compared to traditional amalgam fillings that need undercuts to stay in place.

The process takes about the same time as metal fillings but gives you results that look like you never had a cavity at all. We clean out the decay, apply the composite material in layers, then shape and polish it to match the contours of your tooth. Each layer gets hardened with a special light before we add the next one. Cherry Chase Dental uses high-quality composites that resist staining and hold up well to normal chewing forces for years.

Why Composite Fillings Preserve More of Your Natural Tooth

Old-style metal fillings required dentists to cut away extra tooth structure to create a shape that would hold the filling in place. Composite resin works differently. It chemically bonds to the tooth, so we only remove the decayed portion. This conservative approach at Cherry Chase Dental leaves you with more of your original tooth intact.

  • Less drilling means less discomfort during and after the procedure
  • Bonded composite supports the remaining tooth structure like glue
  • Smaller cavities can be filled before they grow into bigger problems
  • Front teeth get restored without visible metal showing through
  • The material flexes slightly with your tooth instead of conducting temperature changes

What Makes These Fillings Last Through Daily Use

Composite materials have improved dramatically over the past decade. Today’s formulas withstand heavy chewing pressure and resist wear from grinding. The key to longevity lies in proper placement technique and your daily habits. Avoiding extremely hard foods and maintaining good oral hygiene keeps your fillings looking and functioning like new.

  • Most composite fillings last seven to ten years with normal care
  • The material resists staining from coffee and tea better than older versions
  • Small chips or wear can often be repaired without replacing the entire filling
  • Regular checkups at Cherry Chase Dental let us catch any edge wear before it becomes a problem
  • Avoiding ice chewing and pen biting protects both fillings and natural teeth

Your filled tooth should feel completely normal once the numbness wears off. If something feels off when you bite down, give us a call at Cherry Chase Dental so we can make a quick adjustment. We want your composite fillings to feel as natural as they look.
